出生於台灣台北市，曾定居香港，完成高中及大學教育，香港浸會大學中國文學系畢業，一九八七年美國堪薩斯大學藝術史碩士，目前定居美國。曾任《新朝》藝術雜誌駐美代表，譯有《現代藝術理論I&II》、《女性主義與藝術史》、《地球寶盒》、《曠世傑作的秘密》等。藝術評論及散文創作見台、港、中報章雜誌。
Born and raised in Taipei, Taiwan, San-San Yu moved to Hong Kong in 1974 and finished her high school and college education there. She graduated with a BA degree in Chinese Language and Literature from Hong Kong Baptist University and acquired a MA in Art History from University of Kansas in 1987.
She has translated books from English to Chinese, such as The Theories of Modern Art, by Hershel B. Chipp; Feminism and Art, edited by Norma Broude & Mary D. Gerrard; The Earth Pack, by National Geographic Society; and The Private Life of a Masterpiece, by Monica Bohn-Duchen, and so on.
